The outlines of what I can tell about The Third Article explores ‘The Pre-Platonic Philosophers” Book, who were highly esteemed figures in antiquity and served as influential models for subsequent thinkers and philosophers. We will in this First part of the course explore the thinkers that came before the Philosophers themselves, with the exception of Thales of Miletus «who was considered a Sage and a Philosopher at the same time». Thus we shall see all the main Sages or Wise Men of Hellas, or Ancient Greece, and thinkers that came before them, including poets. The content of this article is based on Greg Whitlock’s translation of Nietzsche’s aforementioned book, aiming to shed light on the types of wise men revered during that time period.
