Welcome to the Music Theory 100 Course, Music Theory for Beginners. In this course, we discuss the introductory nuts and bolts of music theory from note values to time signatures and beyond. In this course, you have specialized music theory lessons that allow you to pass your intro to theory exams and your theory assignments. There are going to be quizzes and minor assignments that will help you retain the most information from the course. I will also hold office hours in Google Hangouts periodically if you need more help. Note: More content will be uploaded to this course as it becomes available. This course takes you through the first crucial lessons of music theory from the beginning of different note values to intervals of different notes and their sounds. This course also will contain helpful memory and written exercises to help you learn the most. In the course, students should get through the beginnings of two part harmony and late baroque and early classical music structures.
Bring a pencil and paper or your favorite score editing software (although I will talk about one in the course) in order to do the many practice assignments that are in the course to give you a better understanding of how music theory works.
