Welcome to my course on the connection between occupational therapy and refugee resettlement! This course was designed and created to educate on my entry level occupational therapy doctoral capstone at Drake University. In this course, participants will learn about the needs and current gaps in the refugee resettlement process, explore current resources, and analyze the role of occupational therapy within this population. This course will be broken into five sections; Doctoral Capstone Experience Introduction, Occupational Therapy Perspective, Des Moines Refugee Support, Learning Objectives and Artifacts, and Closing Remarks. These sections will hold content pertaining to a literature review, needs assessment, guiding approaches, and citations where participants can access more information. I also will provide details of my capstone specific learning objectives and the artifacts that were completed to meet those objectives. At the end of the course there will be four questions to answer to assess what was learned.
