You can take this course even if you are an absolute beginner, however, taking my introduction course will help you to navigate the materials a bit faster. In the course, we will cover lean thinking, definitions of waste, and key lean metrics, including the calculation of the process cycle.
We will review PCDA and deep drive DMAIC framework for running your improvement projects. We will cover Value stream mapping which is an instrumental tool for process analysis and improvements. In addition, you will learn about Little’s Law, the 5S framework, and Visual Management. Then I will introduce you to A3 reports, and how to run projects more efficiently using the A3 format. Next, you will learn about Kaizen, planning kaizen events, and a Kaizen event charter. You will gain a good understanding of standardized work, operator balance charts, and standard work charts.
The course will end with converting the “Cool Oil Project” that we have done in the Foundation of quality and lean six sigma course into an A3 format. As I mentioned before, you don’t have to take it, and this course is meant to be self-sufficient, but it would be defiantly helpful.
By the end of the course, you will be equipped with the knowledge and tools to run lean projects and drive process and production improvements.
