As the idea of leadership continues to evolve, a more complete picture of the scope of leadership has emerged. There are many pieces to the leadership puzzle. The term that brings these ideas, and others, together into a coherent model for this and the next generation, is progressive leadership.

A progressive leader is one who cares about performance, that’s their own performance and the performance of their team, but, they also care equally about several additional topics. They care about how their employees experience the workplace. They care about improving each employee’s skills and their career progress. They care about creating and guiding a forward-thinking, diverse, innovative group of professionals. They care about how the organization views these issues too. This more complete professional picture is what motivates them, not just personal, team, or organizational performance.

In this course, we’ll address many of the core ideals and outcomes that define the progressive leader, including what it means to make inclusive decisions, how to think about and manage change, what it means to embrace accountability with compassion, and many more modern professional values.
