This course focuses on 2 principles of the ‘design & concept’ phase of Interior Design. This course is for everyone- from complete newbies with a basic background of design- to fully fledged working designers. The Mood board and Sample board are often the most exciting yet confusing steps in interior design. To work like a professional designer- you need to understand the phase of these steps, and then how and when to implement them. This will allow you to have a smooth inteiror design journey and visualise and design your space like a Pro!
The Mood Board is an initial step to the interior design “design and & Concept” phase, this is a road map which you will use for the rest of your design. Note/ This is NOT a furniture board, it is a conceptual phase which helps in the concept development of your design. Once the Mood board is made, you have a direction in your design. This will allow you to start developing your design into the Sample Board Phase. This happens after all of your selections have been made, plans finalised etc. You will have to learn how to contact and find suppliers to procure real samples- this is how you will present your ideas to your client or even understand how to design your own home. This involves working with REAL materials on a physical board- so you can touch and feel your samples. To make a professional board is a skill in itself. I will teach you how to make professional looking boards from dealing with your samples- all the way through composition and how to avoid mistakes.
