This course teaches you how to draw the map of China from memory and draw the outlines of all the states and learn a mnemonic system to remember the exact loaction of each state. There are 27 states in all along with four Megacities, Tianjin, Beijing, Shanghai and Chongqing and two Special Administrative Zones viz. Hong Kong and Macau. I show you how to locate all of them.
We follow the same system as I have used in my other map courses like Memorize World Map. We subdivide the country outline into regions by using simple straight lines. China has been divided into the Three Largest States first, of Xinjiang, Tibet & Inner Mongolia: these states had been annexed into China historically many years ago. The rest of mainland China has been divided into the three states in the NorthEastern part, namely, Heilongjiang, Jilin & Liaoning. Then we have the Eastern Seaboard with four states and three southern states.
We have devised a creative mnemonic system where we have clubbed together similar sounding names of the states so as to help you locate them on the map quickly and unerringly.
Then we see two landlocked states on the eastern side followed by four more similar sounding states known as Hebei, Henan, Hubei, Hunan. Then we have six more landlocked states, one large state in the middle of China called Qinghai, and finally, an island state called Hainan. It is important to mention here that one more island, Taiwan, is claimed by China as one of their states, but the fact remains that China has no administrative control over Taiwan, which is like an independent country for all practical purposes.
Apart from these 27 states, there are four large megacities which are like states themselves, namely, Beijing, Tianjin, Shanghai and Chongqing and we show you their exact locations on the map. Further, there are the two last cities known as Special Administrative Zones, being Hong Kong and Macau.
Once you complete the course and do the hands on drawing yourselves, you ought to be able to locate any state of China on your own.
